Stellar Solar is one of the oldest and most experienced solar energy firms now operating in San Diego – we specialized in solar before solar was hot! Our contractor’s license has been active since 1998 and we put that expertise to work for you every day.

We carry a C-10 contractor’s license –- considered the gold standard for PV Solar Electric installation. Many other companies only hold a C-46 license which is for solar hot water installer. The state views that as legal but obviously, experience in plumbing doesn’t necessarily translate into the demanding standards of PV solar electric installation, which is our specialty – it’s the only thing we do.

Stellar Solar is wholly-owned, managed and operated by the partners listed below. We concentrate our business here in California and have the flexibility to make decisions in our clients’ best interests, quickly and effectively.

 

Kent Harle, President
Nearly 20 years’ experience in electrical contracting and project management, specializing in PV solar energy and energy demand management. Successful entrepreneur, motivated professional, will do whatever it takes to get the job done and keep our customers satisfied. Founding partner in Stellar Solar.

Brian Grems, VP Operations
An experienced electrical engineer and licensed electrician. Purdue graduate, studied at one of the world’s top PV research labs at the University of New South Wales in Australia.  Launched his career at AstroPower’s (now GE Solar) research & development laboratory. Later moved out into the field, to specialize in systems design and installation. A founding patner in Stellar Solar.

Michael Powers, VP Sales & Marketing
A former marketing manager at Home Depot Supply, helped to launch the national solar program at The Home Depot. Since 1999, board member of Global Energy Network Institute (GENI). In 2007, was invited to speak on renewable energy at Stanford University and World Economic Forum in London. Trained in PV solar sales and installation at AstroPower (now GE Solar) before becoming a founding partner in Stellar Solar.
